Fan Dance

   The lovely Chinese Fan dance originates from the customs of the ladies living along the Yangtse River. Fans are used for many purposes in daily life; to cool the face, to show anger, and to flirtingly play hide and seek. The dance is embellished with skills in Chinese traditional dance, wushu, and modern dance as well. The dancers of the New Shanghai Circus have all completed a five years of advance training in western and Chinese traditional dance from the Shanghai Ballet.
